Heat Interface Units (HIU) sometimes referred to as Thermal Interface Units (TIU) are used to efficiently distribute heat and hot water to district heating or network heating projects. Kensington Maintenance can supply heat interface units throughout the UK, in a specification to suit your district heating project, from apartments, social housing, holiday homes and parks or RHI district heating schemes.

Heat Interface units are available in various configurations to accommodate different projects and budgets. These models are engineered to provide both supply and metering of domestic hot water (DHW) and/or primary heating water. The thermal interface unit distributes water through a high-efficiency plate heat exchanger, delivering mains pressure hot water up to 80kW (Higher capacities available upon request).

The need for heating can be addressed either by utilizing a plate heat exchanger (known as indirect heating) or by directly tapping into the incoming pipework (referred to as direct heating). This adaptable approach provides flexibility in the design and specifications of district heating or social housing initiatives. Integration of metering, whether for billing purposes or for eligibility in government-backed RHI programs, is seamlessly facilitated with the use of Class MID2004 compliant meters.

To ensure accurate reporting and billing data for clients or compliance with RHI regulations, the units can be interconnected either through a straightforward linkage or via a Building Management System (BMS).
